Rock legend Alice Cooper is teaming up with a professional golf legend for a new SiriusXM radio show dedicated entirely to the sport.

The show, “Rolling the Rock,” will pair Cooper with six-time PGA Tour champion Rocco Mediate, who is also Cooper’s casual golf partner. The two will discuss their careers and chat with guests from the world of professional sports and entertainment, a SiriusXM spokesperson said in a statement.

Rolling the Rock debuts Tuesday, July 2, on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio (channel 92) and on the SiriusXM app for phones, tablets, smart speakers and connected TVs. New SiriusXM streaming customers can get three months of service for just $1 when they sign up for an account by clicking or tapping here. SiriusXM streaming subscriptions start at $10 per month and include more than 400 channels of music, talk, sports and entertainment, along with thousands of podcast episodes and on-demand music streaming powered by Pandora.

“Rocco asked me to do this show with him, to talk rock and golf, and it couldn’t have been a better fit,” Cooper said Monday. “We’ve known each other for a long time. We’ve played a lot of tournaments together. He’s a frustrated rocker and I’m a frustrated golfer. It’s a match made on the fairway to heaven. It’s an anything-goes show that’s completely improvised — we have no idea what we’re going to talk about until we start talking. We literally just roll the rock.”

“Alice and Rocco are larger-than-life personalities with a deep mutual love of golf and music, and on SiriusXM they have a platform to share their passion for both with our audience,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer of SiriusXM. “When you bring together two people who are among the best at what they do, and give them the freedom to create a show that truly showcases their personalities and perspectives, you get dynamic and engaging programming. If you love golf, music or both, this is a show you don’t want to miss.”

SiriusXM provided the following biographies for Cooper and Mediate:

Alice Cooper, known as the architect of shock rock, pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that drew inspiration from horror films, vaudeville and garage rock. His extraordinary career in music has spanned 60 years, beginning in the 1960s as the leader of the Alice Cooper Band, whose albums “School’s Out” and “Billion Dollar Babies” topped the charts in the 1970s. Cooper and the other members of the Alice Cooper Band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. As a solo artist, Cooper’s hits include “You and Me,” “I Never Cry” and “Welcome to My Nightmare.” Cooper continues to tour regularly, performing around the world in the dark, horror-themed theatrical performances for which he is best known.

Mediate joined the PGA Tour in 1986 and earned the first of his six tour victories at the 1991 Doral-Ryder Open. He has finished in the top 10 of four major championships in his career, perhaps the most memorable of which was his runner-up finish at the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, when he went head-to-head with Tiger Woods over 19 playoff holes. Mediate has won four times on the PGA Tour Champions since joining in 2013, including a major victory at the 2016 Senior PGA Championship.

In addition to “Rolling the Rock,” Mediaite also hosts “The Rocco Hour” Monday and Tuesday nights on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio. The channel also airs exclusive coverage of the Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, PGA Championship, Open Championship and other professional golf events.
