Basketball camp with former SCSU star fast approaching

Former St. Cloud State basketball player Forrest Witt is offering basketball camps in the St. Cloud area, including one at the Whitney Recreation Center July 16-18. Witt is the current Alexandria High School basketball coach who led the Cardinals to the 2023 state tournament and advanced to the state tournament last month. He graduated from Morris High School in 1998 and played basketball at St. Cloud State from 1999-2003. Witt ranks fifth all-time in scoring at St. Cloud State with 1,774 points.

Witt and his older brother Zach began hosting basketball camps after Forrest graduated in 2003. He says his camps have evolved over the years. Witt explains that they offer week-long camps, 2-3 day camps, and small group and individual training. Precision Basketball is the name of the camps Witt now offers, and they have 7 camps scheduled this summer in Minnesota.

The camp in Whitney will be July 16-18, Thursday through Saturday. Witt says this camp is set up with 4 sessions. This includes girls and boys going into grades 3-6 and girls and boys going into grades 7-8. He says they will split groups by gender and age. Witt says 80% of the camp will be basic skills and there will be some 3v3 games as well. He says they will also give kids some exercises that they can do at home if they want.
