Ben Sheppard Joins Indiana Pacers NBA Summer League Roster

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former Belmont University men’s basketball star Ben Sheppard (’23) will participate in the 2024 NBA Summer League.

Sheppard, who was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the 26th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, has emerged as one of the best players on the bench during the recent NBA Playoffs.

The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 5.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.5 steals per game in 20 minutes during the playoffs.

Sheppard, the only rookie to start games in the NBA Conference Finals, played in all 17 of the Pacers’ playoff games.

He was particularly productive during the Pacers’ series victories over the Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks.

Sheppard made 7 of 11 three-pointers at Madison Square Garden during the series against the Knicks.

The Atlanta native averaged 4.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game in 57 regular-season games.

Sheppard scored a season-high 15 points against Dallas on February 25.

Sheppard, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Belmont in May 2023, led Belmont to 98 wins and three conference championships during his storied career.

The 2024 NBA Summer League will be held from July 12 to 22 in Las Vegas.
