El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant Now Open in Lewiston, Maine

El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant has opened a fourth location in Maine and people are raving about it.

The original El Rodeo is on Western Avenue in South Portland in the former Outback Steakhouse that couldn’t survive. Not so for El Rodeo. It’s one of the most popular restaurants near the Maine Mall.

Since the success of the South Portland location, two more locations have opened. One on Route 1 in Scarborough and another on Bath Road in Brunswick. On July 1, El Rodeo opened its fourth location on Sabbattus Street in Lewiston.

The building was originally built as Tim Horton’s.

But Tim Horton’s didn’t stand a chance against Dunkin’ in most of Maine, so the store eventually closed.

The space was then filled by Buudah Asian Bistro.

And it closed.

Then Burnt Ends Barbeque took over.

And then closed.

Yes, I know I used the same closed photo every time, but this way it’s much easier.

Given the success of the other three restaurants, I think El Rodeo in Lewiston is here to stay.

Katy Charpentier from East Wales shared some pictures of her meal at the new El Rodeo and it looks delicious. Big marks to Mexican Coca-Cola in a glass bottle. It tastes so much better than plastic and it’s made from cane sugar and not high fructose corn syrup.

If you are in the Lewiston/Auburn area, give it a try. Locally owned and operated, El Rodeo is open 11am-9pm and 11am-10pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
