Maggie Coles-Lyster second at Thuringia Ladies Tour!

Maggie Coles-Lyster (Roland) continues to impress. On Sunday she finished second in the final stage of the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour. She had already finished third in stage 3 and briefly finished second in the general classification

After that phase she said she was happy with her progress in European racing, something she has only been doing for 1.5 years.

“It felt like a big build-up over the last 1.5 years to this first European podium, with every sprint I did here getting a little closer. I knew and believed I had the strength, it was just a matter of setting timing, finding the right trains and maintaining my position,” she said.

Coles-Lyster, a multiple national and world champion on the track, has a great kick and stage 6 proved that she transitions well from the board to the road. The final stage of the race took place in Schmalkalden, covering a total of 105.4 km.

American Ruth Edwards of Human Powered Health took the overall victory.
