New York Giants legend has hilarious answer to question about ‘secret sauce’

Legendary New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor will always go down as one of the greatest players of all time.

It’s no wonder so many players want his advice on how to be so dominant in the game of football, including Giants’ young pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux.

When the Giants’ rising star asked LT what the “secret ingredient” was to dominating the NFL, Taylor gave a hilarious answer.

“You know what I think is funny? You know, you go into these conversations and you’re always looking for something, right? When they’re a legend, you’re like, What did you do? What was the secret sauce? And I thought it was funny,” Thibodeaux told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

“LT, he looked at me funny when I said, ‘LT, what’s the secret sauce?’ He said, ‘You know what, damn it, there is no secret sauce.’”

Getting any advice from the best defensive player in NFL history is a wise strategy. Even the advice that there is no secret sauce can help a young pass rusher like Thibodeaux.

The 23-year-old echoed those sentiments.

“It’s just funny to think that when you get to this level, you’re getting there on the same things that you learned as a kid,” Thibodeaux said. “You know, hard work, integrity, dedication. And there’s nothing different. The only thing that’s different is you have to be a little more dedicated and work a little harder. But other than that, we have the tools, as athletes. You just have to continue to apply them and do your best.”

Thibodeaux has a personal best 11.5 sacks in his second season in the NFL.

He still has a long way to go before he enters the conversation with LT, but it is clear that the young defender is maturing before our eyes.
