Nintendo Switch Online will add a previously unlocalized F-Zero game on October 11

Nintendo will add two more classic games to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service next week. F-Zero: GP Legend and F-Zero Climax will both be added to the Game Boy Advance library on October 11.

Originally released in 2003 and 2004 respectively, GP Legend and Climax are the last two F-Zero games released for the Game Boy Advance. In addition to the standard Grand Prix and Time Attack modes, GP Legend features a story mode and an extensive selection of racers.

F-Zero Climax, meanwhile, has never been localized before, making this the first time it will be officially available outside Japan. It features a course editor and is notable for being the final new installment in the series. After its release, the F-Zero series remained dormant for over 19 years until F-Zero 99 arrived in 2023.

As mentioned, both games will be available through Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Pack subscription, a premium tier that offers subscribers additional benefits including access to classic Nintendo 64 games and select DLC expansions for some Switch titles. An individual membership costs $50 USD per year, while a family subscription costs $80 USD and covers up to eight Nintendo accounts.

That’s not the only news for F-Zero fans. The aforementioned F-Zero 99 will also receive a free 1.5 update, which introduces a new Grand Prix competition, five additional tracks and new machine decals. F-Zero 99 is free to download for all Nintendo Switch Online members.
