UP Maroons sign 6’1″ Fil-Am Quentin Millora-Brown

HEIGHT will continue to be a major factor for a strong University of the Philippines team with the addition of 2.08-meter Fil-American standout Quentin Millora-Brown ahead of UAAP Season 87.

Better known as ‘QMB’, he is expected to be a one-time player who will add fuel to the fire in the Fighting Maroons’ attempt to save themselves after finishing second in a row against rival schools Ateneo and La Salle.

Millora-Brown, who is expected to fill the massive void left by former UAAP MVP Malick Diouf, played for South Carolina-based Citadel Graduate College last year with season averages of 11.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks.

UP’s new big man also played three years at Vanderbilt University, after his debut season at Rice University.

“We are not supposed to step up to support Malick,” said UP head coach Goldwin Monteverde.

QMB will soon add more players to the formidable UP frontline, which already includes the likes of Nigerian star Dikachi Udodo, reigning UAAP Rookie of the Year Francis Lopez, Aldous Torculas, Gani Stevens, Sean Alter, Mark Belmonte and Seven Gagate.

Millora-Brown was added to the squad late, but will arrive in the Philippines this weekend. He will then join the Fighting Maroons straight away, after their first training camp of the year in Serbia and their mid-season victory with their second consecutive title in the FilOil EcoOil 17th ECJ Preseason Cup.
